BEST SEASON

 Visit whenever you're ready, because every season has something exciting to offer. The best times to hike the Kakani Suryachaur Hike are in the spring and fall. Furthermore, the spring months of March, April, and May are highly recommended if you enjoy taking walks in the heat without a sleeping bag while enjoying the fresh green foliage of the forest and flowers. If you enjoy hiking on trails in the snow and bitter cold, September to December is the best time for you. Be cautious of cloud cover in February and March as well. It is possible to hike Kakani Suryachaur in the winter as long as there is no snow forecast and the sky is clear. At that time of year, visibility can be excellent.

SAFETY & SECURITY:

We provide appropriate medical care during the walk with qualified personnel and services like first aid. We will also assist in setting up an oxygen pack and a helicopter rescue service in case of an emergency. We emphasize acclimatization days as well in order to combat altitude sickness if need be. From the time of your arrival until the day of your departure, we will take care of you.
 

 ITINERARY

We, Himalayan Hero, have carefully crafted this schedule, taking into account all the required specifics to guarantee a seamless and enjoyable journey. However, there could need to be some modest adjustments made because of unanticipated events like the weather or other demands. For the sake of your security and comfort, these adjustments will be performed with the utmost care. The tour operator will make every effort to make the trip a success and for everyone to have a special experience.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m):
You will be welcomed by a representative of the Himalayan hero as you land at Tribhuvan International Airport. After assisting you with your belongings, one of our staff members will take you to your hotel room for the night. We will meet in the lobby of your hotel or our office, depending on your arrival time, to discuss your Suryachaur hike. In addition to giving, you a briefing on the trekking itinerary in the evening, we will host a dinner program in a typical Nepali restaurant. Visit one of Kathmandu's cultural sites after you've settled down. It's wonderful to eat in the evening, and Thamel, a well-known tourist area, has a variety of restaurants serving both Western and local Nepali food. After that, we'll spend the night in the same lodge.

Day 2: Drive to Kakani and then hike to Suryachaur (1970 m).
Our second day begins with an exhilarating drive from Kathmandu to Kakani, a journey that takes approximately 3 hours. Arriving in Kakani, you step out of the vehicle and are greeted by the crisp mountain air. The town's charm and picturesque surroundings immediately capture your attention. With renewed energy, you embark on the next leg of the journey, a hike from Kakani to Suryachaur, which is estimated to take around 6 hours.
As you ascend higher, the panoramic vistas begin to reveal themselves. Along the way, you encounter fellow trekkers and local villagers, exchanging smiles and stories. The warmth and hospitality of the people add a touch of magic to your journey. After hours of traversing the trail, you finally reach the jewel of the hike—Suryachaur, where we shall overnight.

Day 03: Suryachaur to Chisapani (2200 m)
Explore the lovely village of Suryachaur after waking up to a magnificent sunrise. Take a leisurely stroll through the hamlet, talk to the welcoming locals, and discover more about their distinctive customs and culture. Enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan views, green meadows, and gushing waterfalls.
After enjoying an early breakfast, you bid farewell to the mesmerizing beauty of Suryachaur and set off on a 5- to 6-hour hike towards Chisapani. Leaving Suryachaur behind, the trail takes you through a captivating landscape that seems straight out of a dream. The highlight of the day awaits you—a breathtaking view of the majestic Gaurisanker Mountain. With each ascent, the anticipation grows, and your heart races in anticipation of the grand unveiling. Finally, as you reach a vantage point, there it stands—the magnificent Gaurisanker Mountain, proudly displaying its snow-capped peaks against the backdrop of an azure sky. The sight leaves you in awe, reminding you of the sheer power and beauty of the Himalayas.
As the hours pass, Chisapani emerges on the horizon—a picturesque village nestled amidst the hills. The tranquil atmosphere and panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes make Chisapani the perfect place to settle into your overnight accommodation.

Day 4: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2155 m)
After a wholesome breakfast, you set off on a 5-hour hike towards Nagarkot. As you begin the hike, the trail leads you through lush jungles and verdant forests. As you ascend higher, the scenery unfolds, revealing glimpses of magnificent peaks in the distance. Mount Everest, the crown jewel of the Himalayas, proudly emerges, its majestic silhouette commanding your attention. But the beauty doesn't end there. The Langtang range, with its snow-capped peaks and rugged charm, graces the horizon. Each step brings you closer to these formidable mountains, their allure growing with every passing moment.
Finally, you arrive in Nagarkot, your final destination for the day. As you settle in for the evening, be prepared for some barbeque and dancing around the fire, because that is what Nagarkot is famous for.

Day 05: Nagarkot sunrise view and then drive back to Kathmandu (1350 m)
Early in the morning, at 5 a.m., you make your way to Nagarkot’s viewpoint. As the first rays of light break through the horizon, the sky transforms into a mesmerizing canvas of vibrant colors. The golden hues paint the snow-capped peaks, casting an ethereal glow that takes your breath away. The sunrise view from Nagarkot is a breathtaking spectacle and a grand finale to your Himalayan adventure. After immersing yourself in the beauty of the sunrise, you return to your accommodation for a hearty breakfast, fueling up for the day ahead. With memories of the journey etched in your mind, you bid farewell to Nagarkot and begin the drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 06: Final departure
As you depart for your destination, we'll bid you farewell before dropping you off at the airport in accordance with your departure time. You can depart whenever you like or change your plans for a fresh visit as you, please.

THINGS TO PACK

Depending on the weather, you can choose what to pack for the stroll. Only necessary objects should be transported, and packing should be done properly. Wearing warm, lightweight, and thin clothing is also recommended. The average packing list for this hike includes the following items:
  • windcheater, jacket, and warm fleece.
  • Several sets of hiking shirts and pants
  • Toiletries include sanitizer, tissue, shampoo, toothpaste, and soap.
  • Trekking sandals, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen lotion, and lip balm are recommended.
  • Thermal attire and a covered, comfy backpack
  • High-quality hiking gloves and a sleeping bag

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

  • All ground transportation by car, van, tourist bus, and trekking pick-up and drop-off
  • All government taxes and service fees
  • A friendly, and authorized local trekking guide.
  • Sharing a twin or double bed at a tea house lodge during the trek, with meals including lunch, breakfast, and supper.
  • Depending on group size, transfers can be conducted by van or private car. Salaries and supplies for your porters and guides
  • Box of medical supplies 

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED:

  • Any expenses incurred as a result of schedule modifications due to landslides, political upheaval, strikes, etc.
  • Drinks from the bar
  • Travel insurance, immigration fees for visitors from Nepal, and other personal costs
