Langtang Gosaikunda trek is one of the most famous and adventurous treks in Nepal which is filled with the eye-catching landscapes, several high mountains lakes, the affinity of Nepali cultures and traditions, Langtang National Park, green vegetation, Kyangjin Gompa, ancient Monastery, and several Sherpa Villages and so on. Situated nearby northeast of Kathmandu Valley, Langtang Gosaikunda is very famous to both national and international trekkers, where it required a causal trek throughout the trekking by following the western part of Langtang National Park.

The major attraction of this amazing trek is Kyanlin Gompa, Langtang National Park, Gosaikunda, magnificent Himalayas and its awe-inspiring views, local cultural encounter, and High Himalayan alpine to a vast diverged mid-hill of Helambu. It is really amazing to encounter varied cultural people and their unique lifestyle. Discovering the beautiful Tibetan cultures especially Sherpa and Tamang people and their unique cultures and religion with splendid views of the Himalayas is really amazing that this trek offers us. The Trekking trails of Langtang Gosaikunda is quite tough that includes long, steep and descents trail and filled with the sky-blue gentians, temperate sub-alpine deep forest, epiphytic orchids and primroses or across glacier mountain views and charming villages. The trekking trail of Langtang Gosaikunda!

Langtang Gosaikunda trek begins after the exploration of the major Kathmandu Sightseeing sites and drives onwards to Syabru Bensi by following the beautiful Trishuli rivers. Around 7 to 8 hours drive will take us to the Syabru Bensi, the beginning points of the trekking. As we trek continue, we will cross several villages of Langtang region such as; Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, Kyanjin Gompa, Big Syabru Bensi, Sing Gompa and finally reach to the Gosaikunda Lake. As we reach there, we will explore various small lakes along with Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda Lake is a famous holy lake surrounded by the substantial Himalayan panorama. Most of the Hindu and Buddhist devotees come there to bath during the August full moon festival of Janai Purnima in Nepal. You will be stunned to witness the natural paradise of Gosaikunda Lake and explore 108 lakes existed in this area. Gosaikunda, Saraswatikunda, and Ganesh Kunda lakes are the most popular lakes in the Gosaikunda area which are situated nearby each other. After the exploration of these famous and beautiful lakes, we will return back to Kathmandu by following the different routes.

Itinerary

Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport


 

As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu, one of our representatives will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After hotel check-in, you will be provided a welcome drink. After that, you can take rest and relax in the hotel. Later on, we will introduce with your trekking guide and another member of our office. In the evening, you can stroll around the Thamel Bazaar in order to make place familiar with trekking guide. You can also do some shopping if you want. You can also enjoy welcome dinner with our team and stay overnight in the hotel at Kathmandu.

Note: Welcome dinner is optional, some travelers desire to enjoy both welcome dinner and farewell dinner, while some only prefer farewell dinner.


Day 2: Kathmandu drive to Syabru Bensi (1550m/5100ft) about 7-8 hours drive


 

After having morning breakfast, we will continue journey forward to Syabru Bensi, at the elevation of the 1550 meters. Around 7 to 8 hours drive journey offer attractive mountains views such as; Mt. Annapurna II, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other associated peaks. You can also enjoy witnessing beautiful green landscapes of a hillock, rivers, small settlements, terraced fields, and rustic villages. By following the beautiful Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati and finally we will arrive at Syabru Bensi. Have dinner and stay overnight in the guest house of Syabru Bensi.

 


Day 3: Syabru Bensi trek to Lama Hotel (2450m): walking distance 6-7 hours, 1070m ascent - 10.9 km


After morning breakfast, we will continue to trek forward to Lama Hotel, which is situated at the elevation of the 2,450 meters. As we continue trek, we will follow the beautiful Bhote Koshi River and continue to trek down to Tibet. Again, you will follow the Langtang Khola and get chances to explore the ancients Gompa of Guru Rinpoche. The further trek will follow the stone-paved main street and cross the suspension bridge. The trekking trail goes ahead gradually ascend and enter into the subtropical forest of bamboo, rhododendron, oak, fir, spruce, and blue pine. During your trek, you may get chances to encounter with the rare wildlife including yellow-throated martens, wild boards, Langur monkeys, red pandas, Himalayan black bears and many more. The further gently ascend trail will take you to Lama Hotel by following Rimche, which is situated at the elevation of the 2400meters. Have dinner and stay overnight at the Lama Hotel.


Day 4: Lama Hotel trek to Langtang Village (3430m): walking distance 4-5 hours, 980m ascent - 14.8 km


 

After having morning breakfast, we will continue trek ahead to Langtang Village, which is situated at the elevation of the 3430 meters. As we begin gently climb trek by following the wild forests of hemlocks, oaks, white and pink rhododendron, maples high above the Langtang Khola. As we go close to the Langtang village, the dazzling glimpse of snow-capped peaks will accompany you. You can witness clear views of the Langtang Lirung. The further trek will follow lush meadows of Ghora Tabela and then Langtang National Park, we will eventually arrive at Langtang Village. As we reach Langtang village, you can encounter with the local people of the village and observe their unique cultures and traditions. Have dinner and stay overnight in the guesthouse of Langtang.


Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m): walking distance 2-3 hours, 460m ascent - 6.8 km


 

After having morning breakfast, we will continue trek ahead to Kyanjin Gompa, which is situated at the elevation of the 3870 meters. As we begin the trek, we will cross several villages and climbs a ridge through following the large Chorten. On the way, you can explore the impressive Mani Wall and also the small village of Mundu. The further trek onwards will cross several small streams with wooden bridges and moraines and finally arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. As you reach over there, you can explore the Kyanjin Gompa, beautiful icefall, with the amazing Langtang Lirung (7246m), Kimshung, Genjempol, Kyangjin RI (4750m.), Tsergo RI (5000m.), Ganja La (5160m.), Langshisa- Ri (6427m.), Dorje Lhakpa (6430m.), Naya Kang (5844m.), Yala peak (5500m), and many more. After exploration, have dinner and stay overnight in the camp.

 


Day 6: Acclimatization day in Kyanjin (3870m)


 

In this day, after having morning breakfast, you will explore the Langtang Lirung, Kyanjin Ri, and Tserko Ri, the highest point of this trek. As you stroll over there you can have amazing views of the mountains including Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and many more. You can also visit several alternatives sided trips and explore the many isolated valleys and its surrounding. During your exploration, you can encounter with the local people of the Kyanjin and observe their unique cultures and traditions. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Kyanjin.


Day 7: Trekking back to Lama Hotel (3430m): walking distance 6 hours, 1430m descent - 21.6 km


 

Have early morning breakfast and continue trek towards Lama Hotel, which is situated at the elevation of the 3230 meters. As we begin the trek, the stunning snow-capped mountain will accompany us. We will also follow Langtang Khola, Langtang village and Ghora Tabela and finally, we will reach the Lama Hotel. Today’s trekking will be all the way downhill with the amazing views of towering peaks. As we reach the Lama Hotel, we can explore the Lama hotel and the surrounding area. Have dinner and stay overnight at the Lama Hotel.


Day 8: Lama Hotel trek to Big Syabru Bensi (2230m): walking distance 6-7 hours - 13.1 km


As morning rises, have morning breakfast and continue trek ahead to Big Syabru Bensi, which is situated at the elevation of the 2230 meters. Continue gently descends trail along the beautiful river to the landslide and cross through the fresh and greenery forest of varied rare flora and fauna. Around 6 to 7 hours steep trek will take you to the Thulo Syabru. On the way, you can encounter with the magnificent forest of pine, junipers and existed wild animals including Monkeys, Red Pandas, Boar, and various bird species. As you reach the Thulo Syabru village, you can explore the Tamang Cultural Heritage with their attractive ethnic customs, cultures, and traditions. The place is equally beautiful that you can enjoy viewing the magnificent Himalayas such as; Ganesh Himal (7110m), Langtang Himal and associated ranges. And rest of the day, you can explore this beautiful Syabru Village. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Syabru.

 


Day 9: Big Syabru Bensi to Sing Gompa (3330m): walking distance 3-4 hours, 1040m ascent - 6.8 km


 

In this day, have morning breakfast and continue trek ahead by following the Big Syabru Bensi with steep ascend trail. You will cross Dursagang, and Chortens with the unimaginable views of the Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountains, and other alluring peaks. The further steep trekking trail will follow the beautiful forests of oak, hemlock, rhododendron, and following pastures, we will reach to the top of the Phoparng Danda, at the elevation of 3,190 meters. As we trek ahead following along forest, we may get chances to witness with the langur monkeys playing in the woods and with the views of the exceptional sunset views over the Ganesh Himal is really amazing. The further trek will take you to the Sing Gompa, at the elevation of 3330 meters and explore the cheese factory and famous Buddhist monasteries. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Sing Gompa.


Day 10: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4460m): walking distance 4-6 hours, 1130 m ascent - 11.2 km


 

After having morning breakfast, we will depart Sing Gompa and head towards Gosaikunda Lake, the famous lake in Nepal. As we begin our climb trek, we will cross rich, moist mountains forests with dry scrub vegetation on the slopes. You may also encounter with the Red Pandas on the way. You will trek ahead with the stunning view of the Ganesh Himalaya, Manaslu range, Tibetan Peaks, Langtang Lirung and many more. The further trek will cross a small ridge and witness the holy lake of Gosaikunda. As you reach to the Gosaikunda Lake, you can discover a dozen lakes around Gosaikunda Basin and Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosaikunda.
After exploration, you can stay overnight in the camp at Gosaikunda Lake and have dinner with us.


Day 11: Trek from Gosaikunda to Sing Gompa (3250m.) or Chandan Bari (3250m.) and it takes about four and half hours.


 

In this day, after having morning breakfast, we will continue to trek forward to Sing Gompa, which is situated at the elevation of the 3250 meters. As we continue descending trail, you will pass Lauribinayak with the splendid Himalayas views. The further trek will follow the beautiful forest of rhododendron and finally arrive at Sing Gompa or Chandra Bari. The distance between Sing Gompa and Chandra Bari is no longer, that you can reach Chandra Bari extra one and half hours trek. It depends on you, where you want to stay. Have dinner and stay overnight in the guesthouse.


Day 12: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche which takes about six hours.


 

Have morning breakfast and continue trek ahead to Dhunche from Sing Gompa. You will follow descending trail through following pine, silver, oak and beautiful rhododendron forests. As trekking trail goes near to Dhunche, you will cross the suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. The further trail will cross several human settlements, mineral water factories and finally arrive at Dunche after around 6 hours trek. As you reach to Dunche, you will have dinner and stay overnight in the guesthouse.


Day 13: Dhunche drive back to Kathmandu


 

In this day, after having early morning breakfast, we will drive ahead through passing terraces, rivers, streams, local settlements, high hills and along the beautiful Trishuli riversides. Around 7 to 8 hours pleasing drive will take us back to the Kathmandu. After hotel check-in, you can take rest and recall your memories of your trekking adventure. Have dinner and stay overnight in the hotel.


Day 14: Kathmandu Rest Day and enjoy Farewell Departure.


 

After having morning breakfast, you can do the rest the whole day. In this day, you can go shopping for the last time in Nepal. In the evening, you can enjoy farewell dinner with the typical cultural program for the celebration of the completion of successful Langtang Gosaikunda trekking in Nepal. Stay overnight in the same hotel at Kathmandu.


Day 15: Final Departure


 

After morning breakfast, after hotel check-out, one of the representatives will transfer you to the airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight. We wish you, have a safe flight and hopes we will meet soon in the wonderful country of Nepal.
