This amazing Tamang Heritage trek is filled with the beautiful panoramic views of the towering peaks such as; Langtang range, Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Shispangma, Tibet peak and many more, Langtang National Park, Vibrant Tamang Villages and their rich cultures and traditions, various hanging bridges, generous forests and existed rare and endanger animals and bird species. These 11 days itinerary of Tamang Heritage trek will be enough to explore the beautiful Langtang region and the interesting culture of the local Tamang community. The majority of the people living in the Langtang region are Tamang, who mostly follow Buddhism. After the exploration of the major Kathmandu UNESCO World Heritage Sites, we will begin our journey to Syabrubensi through driving in the private vehicle. Around 5 to 6 hours driving journey will offer you splendid views of the surrounding, several local villages, green rolling hills, and stunning mountains. As you reach to Syabrubensi, we will begin our official trekking from there and the trekking trail goes through crossing the several attractive villages and encountering the Tamang people with their unique cultures and traditions. As you reach to Birdim, you will explore the Tibetan Buddhist Village and witness several cultural programs. Not only that you can also enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas and the surrounding over there. After exploration, we will return back to Kathmandu by following the familiar route.

Best Seasons to Visit Tamang Heritage trek in Nepal!

Although all of all seasons are perfect to visit and explore any corner of Nepal, most trekkers or travelers prefer especially spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) seasons and regard as an ideal season to explore Tamang Heritage trek. In these seasons, the weather and temperatures are good enough to travel and explore the place.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)


As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check in and some refreshments, we will introduce you to your Sherpa guide and we will provide you with a brief orientation class about further Tamang Heritage Trek. In the evening you can stroll down to the street in order to be familiar with the place. You can enjoy a welcome dinner with our team. After having dinner, you will stay overnight at the hotel.

Note: Welcome dinner is optional, some travelers choose to enjoy both welcome and farewell dinner, while some only prefer farewell dinner.

 

Day 2: Kathmandu valley sightseeing


After having morning breakfast and you will visit major Kathmandu Sightseeing such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swyabhunath Stupa, and Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square. Our Sherpa guide will be there to help you that guide you during your visit. After exploration of Kathmandu national heritage sights, you will return back to the hotel and prepare for next day trek. Put essential equipment’s into your backpacks. After having dinner, you will stay overnight in the same hotel.


Day 3: Drive to Syabrubensi (1400m)


 

After having morning breakfast, we will continue trek onwards to Syabrubensi, at the elevation of the 1400 meters. As we continue drive onwards, north out of Kathmandu through following scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabrubesi passing through Dhunche. The driving journey will be amazing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River with the glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. After crossing Dhunche you will feel as if you are heading towards deep land. After 6 to 7 hours driving journey will take you to the Syabrubensi. Have dinner and stay overnight in the guesthouse at Syabrubensi.


Day 4: Trek to Ghatlang (2,238m) 5/6 hrs

After having morning breakfast and continue trek forward to Ghatlang, at the elevation of the 2238 meters. On the way, you can meet with the several local villages, where you will get chances to encounter with the folks and observe their unique cultures and traditions. During trekking trail, observing some of the most interesting insights into Tamang culture & their vibrant lifestyles is really awesome that this trekking provides us. You will encounter with these lovely villages Goljung and Gatlang, where local people will expose their cultural program for you which will be able to create one of the best memories in your life. In Gatlang, you can explore one of the famous and ancient Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake. After having dinner, you will stay overnight in the teahouse lodge at Ghatlang.

 

Day 5: Trek to Tatopani (2,607m) 6/7 hrs walk


 

In this day, after having morning breakfast, we will continue trek ahead with the magnificent views of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. Around 6 to 7-hour pleasing trek of today will take us to the famous place at Tatopani which is famous for the natural hot water. Here you can experience bathing in the natural hot water. It is believed that once you dip into the water, it has a healing power to release your skin disease (aches and pains). Not only that, you can admire the surrounding that natural hot springs are located in the lap of the mountains. Meeting with the varied cultural people and experience some important facets of the Tamang culture is another significant thing to do. After exploration, you will have dinner and stay overnight in the teahouse lodge at Tatopani.


Day 6: Trek to Nagthali (3,300m) 3 hrs walk


 

As morning rises, you will have early morning breakfast and continue trek ahead, where you may encounter with the animals such as; monkeys and deer. As your trekking trail go ahead the panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Hima and Sanjen ranges will appear and you can witness clearly from the Nagthali. Nagthali is a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests, where you can observe some spiritual aspects of the Tamang people over there. Then you will move onward to another famous cultural village called Thuman, where you can witness Shamanic performances with the wonderful view of Langtang ranges and along with other beautiful views of the mountains. Have dinner and stay overnight in the teahouse lodge at Nagthali.


Day 7: Trek to Thuman (2,338m) 3 hrs walk


In this day, have morning breakfast and begin trekking towards Thuman, which is situated at the elevation of the 2338 meters. Today, you have to do a short trek. As you begin several steeps ascend and descend trail around 3 hours, you will arrive at Thuman. As you reach to Thuman, you can explore the varied cultures of the people. You will also get chances to enjoy local singing and dancing program of the locals. During your stay over there, you will also please with their friendly hospitality. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Thuman.
 

Day 8: Trek to Birdim (2,229m) 5/6 hrs. walk


Have morning breakfast and continue trek ahead to Birdim, which is situated at the elevation of the 2229 meters. As you begin the trek, you will get chances to follow the life of the Briddim and observe their cultural performance. Birdim is a famous Tibetan Buddhist Village, where you can encounter the Tamang cultures and traditions with the splendid views of the Langtang Himal. You can also be amazed to witness beautiful and unique houses typically made from the stones and all the roofs are made of split shake. Have dinner and stay overnight in the guesthouse at Birdim.
 

Day 9: Trek to Syabru Besi 3 hrs walk


 

After having morning breakfast, you will continue trek ahead to Syabru Besi. As you begin your trek, you will pass several villages such as Briddim to Syabrubesi via crossing Wangel. In this day, we will move along a gently descending trail through crossing villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounding hills. Have dinner and stay overnight in the teahouse lodge at Syabru Besi.


Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu


In this day, after having morning breakfast, we will make a drive back to Kathmandu by following the several villages, thin shops, greenery thin forest with splendid views of hills, mountains, and terraces. You have to drive along the unpaved road until you reach to Betrawati, and from there you have to follow the narrow path, but the well-paved road. Around 5 to 6-hour drive will take us to the Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. As you reach your hotel, there will be hotel check-in and you can take some rest over there. Today is your last day of your Tamang Heritage Trek in Nepal. If you wish, you can stroll around Thamel bazaar and do some shopping. One of our representatives helps you to do some shopping that you prefer. In the evening, you can enjoy the farewell dinner host by our office. You can also enjoy witnessing typical Nepali cultural program.


Day 11: Departure to your destination


 

After having morning breakfast, one of our office representatives will help you to find your flight. He/She will take you to the airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight. We will wish you to have a safe flight and hopes that we will once meet in this wonderful country of Nepal.
