This legendary Jomsom Muktinath trek will provide you an opportunity to explore famous ancient Hindu Temple called Muktinath. Muktinath is one of the most famous temples of God Vishnu and it is also a most sacred site for both Hindu and Buddhist people. Situated at around 18 km northeast of Jomsom also offers magnificent views of the Himalayas. Every year many trekkers come to Muktinath throughout the world to explore Muktinath temple. Every trekker admires the main shrine of the Muktinath temple, which is designed in the Pagoda style. This Pagoda shrine symbolizes the religious symbiosis between Buddhists and Hindu, where Buddhist regard Muktinath as Buddha temple while Hindu regards as Vishnu temple. The statue of God is made of gold which depicts metal statues of Lord Vishnu, Saraswati, Goddess Laxmi, Janaki, Garuda, Sapta Rishis, and Lava-Kush. This trek also offers spectacular views of mountains. Apart from this, you can also encounter exciting folk and their unique cultures and traditions. During the trek to Jomsom Muktinath, we get chances to experience moderate adventure trek and explore the breathtaking landscape and spiritual temples. As you continue trek ahead, you shall pass through several small and large vibrant villages by following beautiful but dense forests full of rhododendron. Following the world's deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki during our trek to Muktinath and get opportunities to soak your exhausted body into the natural hot springs at Tatopani is really amazing that this trek offers us.

The trekking trail of Jomsom-Muktinath
After exploring Kathmandu Sightseeing Sites, we will begin our Muktinath Jomsom trek with the scenic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. As we reach to the paradise city Pokhara, we will begin the trek by following several beautiful villages including Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tatopani, Ghansa, Marpha, Kagbeni, and finally, reach Muktinath. After exploring the Muktinath temple and its surroundings, you will return back to Jomsom and then return back to Pokhara. As you reach a heavenly city called Pokhara, you can enjoy strolling around and exploring a naturally beautiful city surrounded by the stunning Himalayas. After exploration, we will head towards the Kathmandu Valley. As you reach to Kathmandu, you will be visiting the UNESCO's World Heritage sites enlisted from this city, and shall also taste various local Newari dishes and typical Nepalese cuisines. You do not require any strenuous physical fitness to accomplish this trek. Your body must endure the long duration of walking for some days in a row, and shouldn't have any problem related to the knee or ankle. Throughout the trek, you should ensure that you are taking proper care of your personal hygiene and are consuming hygienic food. Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)


 

As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu, one of our representatives will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After hotel check-in, you will be provided a welcome drink. After that, you can take rest and relax in the hotel. Later on, we will introduce with your trekking guide and another member of our office. In the evening, you can stroll around the Thamel Bazaar in order to make place familiar with trekking guide. You can also do some shopping if you want. You can also enjoy welcome dinner with our team and stay overnight in the hotel at Kathmandu.

Note: Welcome dinner is optional, some travelers desire to enjoy both welcome dinner and farewell dinner, while some only prefer farewell dinner.

Day 2: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation


 

In this day, after morning breakfast, you will visit major Kathmandu Sightseeing Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square with trekking guide. After exploration, you will return back to the hotel and take rest. In the evening, one of our trekking leaders will provide you short orientation class about the further trek. Have dinner and stay overnight in the same hotel.

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft) and trek to Tikhendhunga (1,552m/5,090ft): 30 minutes flight, 4-5 hours trek


 

Have morning breakfast and take a domestic flight to Pokhara, the heavenly place on the earth. Around 30 minutes scenic flight will offer you stunning views of Himalayas, amazing views of the valleys, and hills. As you land at Pokhara airport, you can stroll around the Pokhara and again we will take a drive towards Naya Pul. Around 1 to 2-hour scenic drive will take you to the Nayapul, the trekking point. We will continue trek ahead by following the beautiful Bhurundi Khola and continue ascending trail through lush forests and cliffs. As we go ahead, we will cross a suspension bridge over the beautiful Modi Khola (river) and finally reach to the Tikhedhunga. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Tikhedhunga.

Day 4: Tikhedhunda to Ghorepani (2,750m/9,020ft): 6-7 hours


 

In this day, you will have morning breakfast and continue to trek towards Ghorepani, which is situated at the elevation of the 2750meters. You will follow descending trail and cross a beautiful bridge over the Burundi Khola. From here we will begin further ascending trail to Ghorepani, an important campsite for horse traders. In the evening, you can stroll around the village and explore the place. Have dinner and stay overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 5: Ghorepani to Tatopani (1,190m/3,904ft): 5-6 hours


 

Have early morning breakfast and continue trek towards Tatopani, which is situated at the elevation of the 1190meter with the amazing views of Annapurna South, Nilgiri mountains and its vicinity. As you continue trek ahead, you will begin descending trail by following the Sikha Village, Ghar Khola Village. The further trek will cross a beautiful suspension bridge and finally arrive at Tatopani, where trekkers can enjoy bathing in the natural hot spring. It is believed that once you bath in the naturally hot water, the water has a healing power that will release your aches, pain and skin disease. After that, you can stroll around and have dinner with us. Stay overnight in the Tatopani.

Day 6: Tatopani to Ghasa (2,110m/6,922ft): 5-6 hours


 

In this day have early morning breakfast and continue trek towards Ghasa, which is situated at the elevation of the 2110meter. Continue steep ascend trekking trail by following the beautiful Kali Gandaki River on our right and cross a suspension bridge over the river. You will also pass through the beautiful waterfall, Rupse Chhahara and reach to the Ghasa, the lower part of the Kali Gandaki Valley filled with the green scenery and finally arrive at Ghasa. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Ghasa.

Day 7: Ghasa to Marpha (2,680m/8,792ft): 4-5hours


 

Have early morning breakfast and continue trek ahead to Marpha, which is situated at the elevation of 2680 meters. We will continue ascending trail through following beautiful forest and the Lete Khola (stream) before reaching Lete village. The further trek will continue along the east of the river and finally arrive at Marpha by following Larjung Village. On the way, you can also witness beautiful apple orchards and vegetable farms on the way. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Marpha.

Day 8: Marpha to Kagbeni (2,810/9,218ft): 4-5 hours


 

Have morning breakfast and continue trek ahead Kagbeni which is situated at the elevation of 2810 meters. As you continue trek ahead by following the ascending trail with a ridge and reach to Jomsom Village. From here we will trek to the north and arrive at Kagbeni by following the Kali Gandaki River. You will also pass Eklebhatti village before arriving Kagbeni. Kagbeni also offers you great views of the Himalayas including Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche peaks. Have dinner and stay overnight in Kagbeni.

Day 9: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3,710m/12,170ft): 5-6 hours


Have morning breakfast and continue trek towards Muktinath temple by following the beautiful riverbank of Kali Gandaki upstream. During your trek, you can enjoy scenic picturesque places on the way. We will continue climbs steeply and re-join the direct trail to Khingar at 3200m. After climbing upward trail through following the beautiful desert landscape and finally arrive at Jarkot Village. A further ascend trek will take us to the Muktinath. As you reach to the Muktinath, you can stroll around the place and explore the famous temple and nearby monastery. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Muktinath.

Day 10: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft): 5-6 hours


 

Have early morning breakfast and once visit Muktinath temple, an important pilgrimage site for both Buddhist and Hindu. After exploration, we will trek back to Jomsom with the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and other stunning Himalayas. Have dinner and stay overnight in the Jomsom.

Day 11: Fly back to Pokhara: 15 minutes flight


 

Have morning breakfast and take a domestic flight with the stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. As you reach to the Pokhara, you will stroll around and explore Pokhara. You will visit famous Davis Falls, where you can see the magic of a waterfall that flows directly into a narrow and deep canal which has no end. Then after you will visit the Shiva Cave, situated near Davis Fall. You will also explore the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) and the Tibetan refugee camp and can observe the refugees how they are kept themselves busy by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items. After exploration, you will have dinner with us and stay overnight in the hotel of Pokhara.

Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu


 

Have early morning breakfast and continue drive journey to Kathmandu from Pokhara. During our journey, we will follow the Damauli, Dumre, Mugling and Kurintar, Naubise and drive ascend to Thankot, the gateway to Kathmandu. Finally, the further drive will lead us to Kathmandu. As we reach the hotel, we can take some rest after hotel checks in. you can do some souvenir shopping in the vibrant Thamel. In the evening, you can enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Have dinner and stay overnight at the same Hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 13: Final departure


 

After morning breakfast, after hotel check-out, one of the representatives will transfer you to the airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight. We wish you, have a safe flight and hopes we will meet soon in the wonderful country of Nepal.
