The  Tsum Valley Trek has been recently opened trekking in this hidden world. After 2008, the government of Nepal opens the route to trek for both national and international travelers. The Trekking Trails to Manaslu Tsum Valley!

The trekking trails to Manaslu Tsum Valley begins from a scenic drive to Arughat from where the actual trekking journey commences towards Soti Khola, Machha Khola, Nile, Mu Gompa, Burgi village, Philim, Khorlabesi, and return to Kathmandu via Arughat. The trails to Tsum valley are decorated with artistic chortens and lined with Mani walls made of stone slabs that follow the ancient salt-trading route along the Budi Gandaki River. These 20 days  Tsum Valley trek takes you to the unexploited and traditional villages of Nepal. The trekking trails pass through the dense alpine forests, terraced fields, hill villages, glacial rivers, some centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, many incredible suspension bridges, chortens, threads of prayer flags, stupas, Mani-stone walls, and several ancient gompas; Mu, Rachen, and Dephyudonma. You will enjoy walking through the forested areas which are covered with the rhododendron flowers, pine and conifer trees witnessing the views of majestic mountain peaks and cascading waterfalls.

Best time to Visit the Tsum Valley!

The best time to visit the Tsum Valley in the autumn (September, October, and November) and spring (March, April, and May) seasons. These months have warm weather and moderate temperature. The views of mountains are crystal-clear from the distance too. There is very little chance of raining during these seasons. You will see the blooming of multicolor rhododendron flowers and greenery everywhere.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the Kathmandu International Airport (1,350m) and Transfer to the Hotel


After your arrival at the Tribhuvan (Kathmandu) International Airport, one of the representatives from Himalaya Hero Adventure will welcome and transfer you to the hotel in our private vehicle. After hotel check-in, take rest for a while! Later, we will organize an introductory meeting where you we will introduce our team members and your trekking guide at our office. At evening, you will be invited for welcome dinner at a Nepali restaurant where you will enjoy folk cultural performance too.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Trek Preparation


Today, after having a healthy morning breakfast, we will visit cultural and historical sites of Nepal that lies in Kathmandu valley. These sites are Pashupatinath, Swayambunath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and are even listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your tour guide will assist you throughout the visit and provide essential information regarding the particular sites. Returning from our one-day sightseeing trip, we will conduct a meeting on trekking equipment, plan, and challenges. If you lack any kind of trekking essential then you can buy it from Thamel where you will get every trekking equipment. Day 3: Drive to Arughat (570m) from Kathmandu


Traveling Duration: 6 to 7 hours

After having breakfast and hotel check-out, we will move towards our most waited journey. Within six to seven hours of scenic driving towards the western side via Dhadingbesi; headquarter of the Dhangadi district, we reach Arughat. On the way, you will enjoy the views of hills, green forests, rugged terrains, rivers, etcetera. Arughat is divided into two parts by the Budi Gandaki River and is one of the major towns of this region.

Day 4: Trek to Soti Khola (700m) from Arughat


Trekking Duration: 6 to 7 hours

After having breakfast, we will follow the stone-paved street towards the western part of Arughat. You will come across the hydro-electric power plant, fields of rice and millet to Mangaltar, beautiful dense forest decorated with rhododendron flowers, and cross suspension bridge over the Budi Gandaki River. From here, the trail becomes slightly steeper. Further trail crosses the Arkhet Khola on a suspension bridge, passes the Arkhet market, and descend towards the ridge of Kuerepani to reach Soti Khola. Reaching Soti Khola, communicate with local people and collect experience of their hospitality. Enjoy the traditional village setting in a peaceful environment!

Day 5: Trek to Machha Khola (930m) from Soti Khola


Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Today’s trekking trail passes through the beautiful sal forest at the initial point and then climbs onto a ridge above the Budi Gandaki River. Before reaching Machha Khola, you will come across the traditional Gurung village; Labubesi. Gurung are highly inhabited in this village where you get the chance to learn Gurung’s culture and participate in their unique and exciting events. Observe the living style of people!

Day 6: Trek to Jagat (1,410m) via Tatopani


Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

After having morning breakfast, we will follow the up and down path and pass the Tharo Khola, Dovan, Tatopani, to reach village of Jagat. Today, we will cross many suspension bridges over the Budi Gandaki river and Yaru Khola. Reaching Tatopani, take hot shower in a natural hot water pond. Tatopani is popular for hot water shower and people having skin disease visit the place to get rid of it.

Day 7: Trek to Lokpa (2,200m) from Jagat


Trekking Duration: 4 to 5 hours

After having early morning breakfast, we will climb through a ridge up to Salleri. The trail then passes through the Sirdibas, Ghatta Khola, Gurung village of Philim and Chisopani to reach Lokpa village. Today, we will come across with the beautiful waterfall and dense forests filled with rhododendron and pine trees.

Day 8: Trek to Chumling (2,386m) from Lokpa


 

Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Today after having breakfast, we will trek towards the uphill path to reach Chumling. Throughout the journey to Chumling, you will experience hide and seek game of majestic vistas of snow-clad Himalayas. The trail then crosses through the small village of Lungwa Khola, ascends through the pine forests, and passes Siyar Khola. Reaching the village, roam around the place!

Day 9: Trek to Chhokangparo (3,010m) from Chumling


Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

After having morning breakfast, we will begin our trek towards Chhokangparo. You will cross the suspension bridge and pass the Gho village to reach Chhokangparo. Enjoy the great views of Ganesh Himal and ancient village setting!

Day 10: Trek to Nile (3,361m) from Chhokangparo and Visit to Milarepa Cave


Trekking Duration: 6 to 7 hours

After having breakfast, we will begin our walk towards Nile. We will pass several traditional and culturally rich villages such as Lamagoan, Lar, Phurbe, Pangdun, and Chhule. We will also pass a rope suspension bridge over to the Shiar Khola and climb upstream trail to reach Nile. We will also visit to the famous monastery of Chhule located at the top and Milarepa cave. It is said that centuries back saint Milarepa had mediated in this cave. Reaching the top offers you the mesmerizing views of Poshyop Glacier, Kipu Himal, and Churke Himal.

Day 11: Trek to Mu Gompa (3,700m) from Nile


Trekking Duration: 4 to 5 hours

After taking morning breakfast, we will walk towards the west bank of the valley through the Tibetan landscapes that is close to the Tibetan border. The trail up to Mu Gompa is uphill trek and passes through the rows of chortens and wide mountain vistas. Mu Gompa is considered as a largest monastery that lies at the highest and remotest part of the Tsum valley which have more than 100 monks. On the way, we will visit to Dhephu Doma Gompa where we will enjoy the sunrise views on the narrowing valley walls.

Day 12: Rest and Exploration Day at Mu Gompa


Today, we will spend our day and night at Mu Gompa. Exploring around the remote and highest areas of this region with its traditional village setting, you will encounter ancient antique idols and scrolls, statue, and relics. If you wish, we can also make a visit to the village of upper Tsum located on the Tibet border route. The place is less crowded. Trekking in the trails of hidden world, you will enjoy the scenery and culture of remote village setting in complete natural and peaceful environment. We will hike up to the base of the Pika Himal (4,865m) for adventurous hiking experience and majestic views of the Himalayas and landscapes.

Day 13: Trek to Burgi Village (3,245m) from Mu Gompa


Trekking Duration: 4 to 5 hours

From today, we will retrace our way towards Chhule. At the initial point, we will pass Phurbe village and rope suspension bridge over Shiar Khola. Burgi is a small yet, beautiful village. Explore around the village and interact with local people of the Burgi village!

Day 14: Trek to Chumling (2386m) from Burgi Village


Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

After having breakfast, following the same trail, we will retrace our steps back to Chhokang Paro. Descending to Chhokang Paro via dense rhododendron and pine forest and crossing the suspension bridge over the Sarpu Khola, we reach Chumling. Take rest!

Day 15: Trek to Philim (1590m) from Chumling


Trekking Duration: 6 to 7 hours

After having morning breakfast, within six to seven hours of walking via Lokpa, we reach Philim. While re-tracing the steps back to Philim, re-enjoy the fantastic views of Samba Falls!

Day 16: Trek to Khorlabesi (1240m) from Philim


Trekking Duration: 6 to 7 hours

Today’s trail retraces the route via Jagat,Dovan, and Tatopani. We will descend towards the further trail and pass Sirdibas, Jagat, Yaruphant, Dovan, and finally, Tatopani before reaching Khorlabesi. At Tatopani, you can again take hot bath to relax your tired muscles. The further walk leads us to Khorlabesi.

Day 17: Trek to Soti Khola (730m) from Khorlabesi


 

Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

After having breakfast and morning bath at Tatopani with hot spring, we will continue our trekking journey along the Budi Gandaki River on downstream trail. Once again, we will pass the ancient and attractive Gurung village of Labubesi. Further trail heads towards the terraced fields and waterfalls to reach Soti Khola.

Day 18: Trek to Arughat from Soti Khola


 

Trekking Distance: 6 to 7 hours

We will retrace our walk climbing up the ridge of Kyorpani. The trek at first descends towards the trail and passes through the cascading waterfall. The trail also crosses the Arkhet Khola, Sante market, and hydroelectric power plant following the stone-paved street to reach Arughat Bazaar.

Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu from Arughat


 

Traveling Duration: 6 to 7 hours

After having breakfast, we will travel along the banks of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli river. Enjoying the views of green hills, snow-clad mountains, farming terraces, and traditional villages, we reach Kathmandu valley. After reaching at the hotel in Kathmandu and hotel check-in, either take rest or explore around the attractive and popular touristic area of the valley like Thamel. If you want, you can buy gifts for loved ones or family members. Celebrate your successful completion of trekking journey in the remotest area of Nepal.

Day 20: Final Departure


Before three hours of your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the Kathmandu International airport by one of our representatives. Wish to see you again! Have a safe journey ahead!
