KyanjingGompa is an ancient monastery named this place on the oldest monastery. Travelers can view local Tamang villages, cheese factories, ancient monasteries, landscapes, scenery, Langtang national park and during April, beautiful rhododendron lights up the entire national parks with bright colors. If you are lucky enough then you can see endangered animals and birds living in their natural habitat.
The Gosaikunda (4380m) lakes are regarded as holy by both
Hindus and Buddhists. It is popular as the frozen lake (remains frozen for six months in winter October to June), carries a huge natural and religious significance. According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Shiva stroke his trident in the Himalayas to clear his thrust he felt after swallowing poison, as a result, the lake was formed.
The water of Gosaikunda is considered holy water whereas there is a place carrying a particular significance during the Gangadashara festival and the Janai Purnima festival where thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the area.
The
Langtang GosainkundaHeli tour starts from the TIA, in the early morning. The flight takes over the densely inhabited city of Kathmandu, lush rhododendron forest and finally the rugged mountain landscapes. We make our first landing in KyanjingGompa and from there head towards Gosainkunda. During exploration in Gosainkunda, Hindu devotees can prayers and perform rituals and finally return to Kathmandu.
