Overview

Tibet is a beautiful country, located in inner Asia. Tibet is the autonomous region of China. Tibet is bordered by Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and India to the south, and east it is covered by the state of India. Lhasa is the Capital city of Nepal. The total area of Tibet is 1.228 sq km, with a population of 3.18 million. Tibetan Buddhism is a major religion. Tibet is the country that is located in the highest elevation, with an average elevation of 5000m. Tibet is the birthplace of Tibetan people and some ethnic groups – Sherpa, Tamang, Monpa, Qiang and Lhopa people.

Most part of the Tibet is surrounded by massive mountains. So the process of transportation is cutting down the mountains and making the way out to the world.
The climate in   Tibet is cold. The temperature in the higher elevations is cold, but the lower valleys and the southeast are mild and pleasant. Most part of the Tibet is dry and receives little rain. There is a snow line in the 4800 m snow line. Transportation facility has been improved in recent years. Modern roads have been constructed to make the trading easy and make outsiders people visit.

Tibet is a heavenly place offering Serenity in a very corner.
To visit Tibet, a valid Chinese visa is required. A Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) permit is also required to enter Tibet.
  • To board a plane or train to Tibet you need a Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) permit, and to get this you must book a guide for your entire trip and pre-arrange private transport for trips outside Lhasa.
  • Travel outside Lhasa requires additional permits, arranged in advance by your tour company, so you need to decide your itinerary beforehand.
  • Foreigners are not allowed to take public transport outside Lhasa.
  • Tour companies need 14 days to arrange permits and post you the TTB permit (the original permit is required if flying from within China).
  • When entering Tibet from Nepal you have to travel on a short-term group visa, which can make it tricky to continue into the rest of China.
Tibet is a heavenly place offering Serenity in a very corner.
